 Entry requirements

Faculty of Medicine
Admission is done according to U.G.C. criteria in the Biology Stream. Qualifying subjects are Biology, Chemistry and Physics / Mathematics from Local G.C.E. Advanced Level or London Advanced Level / International Advanced Level. Minimum result requirement is 2 Credits and 1 Simple pass from the above mentioned qualifying subjects [2 C's & 1 S from Local G.C.E. Advanced Level / 2 C's & 1 D from London Advanced Level]. International applicants may apply with equivalent foreign qualifications. All student admissions will be subject to approval by the University Grants Commission and Higher Education Ministry of Sri Lanka.

Faculty of Engineering
The entry qualifications for the degree programs in the Faculty of Engineering, as complied with the UGC minimum requirements, include three (3) passes at the GCE Advanced Level Examination conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education in Sri Lanka or an equivalent foreign examination in the mathematics stream (3 subjects including Mathematics and Physics).

Faculty of ICT and Media
Enter the degree first year from Local / London A/Ls or
from O/Ls through SAITM Diploma in Interactive Media.



Faculty of Management and Finance
The Faculty of Management and Finance prepares students for two Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting and Finance and International Management awarded by the Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), UK. First two years of the programme have been organized as a Higher Diploma in Business Management while,in the final year, students are directly registered for the BNU Degrees. Further, Faculty conducts a separate university foundation programme for those who have not been successful in their A/L or for those who have not studied beyond G.C.E (O/L).

   i. Admission Requirement
      a. Minimum of A/L (local/London) 3 passes in any stream or
          parallel professional/academic qualifications.
      b. Good working knowledge in English

   ii. Preparatory Courses
      Accounting : for those who have not followed Accounting as a A/L subject
      General English : for those who are not having sufficient working knowledge in English)


Faculty of Allied Health and Behavioral Sciences
Newly established Faculty of Allied Health and Behavioral Sciences (FAHS) at South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine, is the first ever institute in Sri Lanka to offer undergraduate programs for students pursuing careers in pharmaceutical and pharmacological sciences. Additionally the Faculty has initiated BSc programs in nursing and psychology for Sri Lankan students interested in pursuing a career in nursing or psychology in both state and non-state sector.

   Admission Requirement
      a. 2 Passes for G. C. E. (Advanced Level) with at least credit pass in
          English in Ordinary Level.
      b. G. C. E. (Ordinary Level) with working experience of minimum of 6 months in
          Pharmaceutical industry and Marketing

Important notice for International Students

Medical Test
Applicants must undergo with a medical examination before the commencement of the program

Visa process
This process will take approximately 1- 2 months and should be handled by the Sri Lankan High Commission/ Embassy in your country

Interview processes
All applicants are required to face for an interview with the faculty board after applying for the program. Skype interviews can be arranged for international students if necessary.

Orientation
This is an informative, interactive program run by respective faculties to assist with your transitions in to life at SAITM.

Registration Process
Students selected for admission should submit the following documents to be registered as a student;

a) GCE Advanced Level and Ordinary Level Examination certificates issued by the Commissioner General of Examinations (statement issued for use outside Sri Lanka) certificate by an authorized officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Entry qualifications for the degree programs as complied with Sri Lankan University Grants Commission’s minimum requirement, at G.C.E. Advanced Level examination conducted by the Ministry of Higher education in Sri Lanka or an equivalent foreign examination.

Applicants with foreign educational qualifications must obtain result equalization certificate from Department of Examination of Sri Lanka by applying with their results sheets/ transcript as it will be sent to the Ministry of Higher Education in Sri Lanka for a review.

Final decision regarding the eligibility for the degree programs of the foreign applicants will be taken by the Ministry of Higher Education, Sri Lanka.

b) Certified copy of the Birth Certificate and National Identity Card / Passport

c) Valid Passport and Visa

d) Personal data form

e) Payment of registration fee, 1st Installment with taxes as stipulated in the letter of award.

f) Obtain insurance cover for payment of fee

g) Medical certificate of fitness (physical and mental) to enroll and follow the course once the student fulfills the registration process; he/she will be given a student registration number which will enable him/her to obtain library membership and all other facilities available for students of SAITM.
