Introduction
Obstetrics & Gynaecology is introduced to students as a subject in the 3^rd year 6^th semester. The lectures start in the 6^th semester and will go up to 8^th semester. The course consists of a series of lectures, small group discussions, Skills lab (hands on training) as well as clinical appointments.

The aim of the department is to produce medical graduates who will be competent in managing:
   1. Normal labours
   2. Identify high risk pregnancies and appropriate referral
   3. Obstetric emergencies
   4. Early pregnancy problems
   5. Common gynaecological conditions
   6. Gynaecological malignancies
