SAITM Faculty of Engineering (FoE) established in 2009 is recognized as one of the most successful engineering faculties among the universities in Sri Lanka and has made a name for itself as part of a top non-state sector higher educational institute producing high quality engineeringgraduates.
Having started with a very productive collaboration with the prestigious Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand, which is a world renowned United Nations backed International University in the Asia Pacific, SAITM FoE has been conducting 4 year full time B.Sc. Engineering degree programs in five disciplines in a 2+2 model.
In 2015 SAITM FoE has launched two government approved and gazetted (gazette number 1913/14) B.Sc. Engineering degree programs in Civil and Mechatronics Engineering with a direct path to Masters degrees at AIT, Thailand to further the scope for the students. Two more highly sought after 4 year full time degree programs are to be launched in 2017,namely B.Sc. in Bio Systems Science and Technology and B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying under the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education of Sri Lanka.
In addition, the faculty has entered into collaborations with the RMIT university and the University of New Castle both top end universities in Australia, where optionally students can enter the third year of RMIT Bachelors degree programs on completion of 2 years study at SAITM. The faculty is also happy to announce its newest collaboration with RMIT Vietnam, where SAITM students can directly enter into the 3rd year of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Software Engineering bu completing the first 2 years at SAITM availing themselves of the opportunity to study in a multi-cultural, peaceful and modern setting.
I am proud to mention that SAITM engineering graduates, having guided by top notch academics are performing exceptionally well in both the industry and academia.
Considering the achievements of SAITM FoE since its inception in the fields of research, academic and sports there is no doubt that the faculty is on its path to make a mark in the South Asian region. All this will benefit our students who will be able to realize their dreams of becoming world class engineers.
